The Wall

Last weekend the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall was by our house so Danny and I took the kids down to see it. What an emotional experience! To see not only all the names of the men and women who died then, but they also had a huge display of dog tags of the names of the men and woman who died it Desert Storm and in the current war in Iraq. Looking at those I realized how lucky I was that my uncle's name was not on there from Desert Storm or my brothers from Iraqi Freedom. To think of the price these people paid for our freedom is humbling! I give my thanks and respect to all who do or have served in any form of the United States Military. The flag is names of police and firefighters who died on 9/11 and the table is the names of all the civilians.

A Star is Born!

Miranda performed in the "Dreamin Dragon" talent show this year with her friend Jenna. They sung a song from High School Musical "What I've been looking for" They were awesome! Miranda is already talking about next year. I think she may have inherited her dads gift for singing and performing! I will try to post the video on the blog as soon as I figure it out!

Baseball Parade 2008

Every year to kick off the little league baseball season, the little league has a parade with all the teams. There are teams from tee-ball all the way to major league baseball. In years past the day has been very nice warm, sunny. Not this year it was cold and cloudy. Matthew and Miranda were freezing until the candy started flying! Michael was in the parade with his team, and since Danny was actually home he rode with Michaels team.

New Toy

Danny and I lost our mind and got a dirt bike for the kids. Right now Michael will be the main rider until the other two are ready (if he can keep dad off of it!) I tried it once and ran into the fence. Totally not my fault it wouldn't stop or turn. Michael does pretty well on it and is ready to go somewhere to ride.

The mind of a child

The innocence of a kid often amazes me. Whether it be my 9,7 or 4year old. I would love for one day to see the world through their eyes. Last Saturday my dad and Stephanie treated us and Angie and Joe to the circus. I admit I did not watch too much of it. Not because of 50 trips to the bathroom or the kids monkeying around, (the kids were very well behaved! not that it surprised me)any way, I sat and watched the looks on their faces. The amazement of the acrobats and stunts, and the laughter of the clowns! I thought Michael and Joey were going to have a heart attack the way they were laughing! And as the girls came out in their dresses and sparkles Miranda just watched not saying a word. And Matthew he was yelling "Let the Tigers Go!" He just wanted to watch them run around! I wish I had pictures but I forgot my camera. If I get any from Dad I will post them! Then the other day the older kids were at school and Danny and I and Matthew were just hanging out and Matthew asked if Daddy had to work tomorrow. When we told him yes his replies "my daddy is going to save the world!" I thought to myself well theres no pressure there for Danny. And then last night as I was cleaning the kitchen I heard a bunch of cars honking (not too unusal since we live by a park), but this was a lot of honking. So we opened the door to see, and it was the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall making its way to the park for display. It was amazing to see all the motorcycles with their POW/MIA flags and all the others that followed. When Matthew asked what it was for I told him and then he got so excited. I know he has no clue as to the true meaning of the wall, but to see him so excited was so neat! He was running and telling the older two "The wall is coming, The wall is coming to wah her park!" I will also post pictures of that after I have a chance to go over and take some.

Fishing

Last week Danny was in a fishing mood so one night we took the kids to the park and went fishing. Matthew was the only one to catch one. The kids were soon bored and wanted to go to the playground, where Matthew mastered the fireman's pole. I think we have firefighter in the making!

Haircuts

Last weekend the boys wanted to get their hair cut, so out come the clippers. Danny decided to have a little fun and show them what they will look like when they get old. Michael was afraid we were going to leave it like that. After Danny cut their hair it was time for the boys to cut his hair. I think they were doing a fine job, but for some reason Danny thought he needed to do a little touch up.
