Gorilla nards and Charlie Brown

Here is a couple of quick stories I think will make you laugh! The other day Matthew was looking for something and was getting upset that he couldn't find it. When I asked him was he was looking for he said "that thing from Charlie Brown", I again asked him what it was and he said his thing from Charlie Brown, after a few more minutes of him looking and getting more upset I asked him where were we when you got this he said "mom at Joey's swim party from Charlie Brown." It was then that I realized he was talking about the little souviener that Grandma Brown had gotten him in Mexico.

Then Friday night the kids said they were all getting a little hungry. So I told Matthew to go tell the kids they could have an apple or a gronola bar for a snack. He runs down the hall and says "hey, mom said you can have apple or gorilla nards for a snack." I almost wet my pants laughing, but what made the whole situation funnier was the look on Michaels face as he came around the corner and said "What can we have for snack?" I think he was really worried that he was in fact offered gorilla nards! Out of the mouths of babes right!

Danny's Birthday

On his actual birthday he went to the baseball game with his brother Tony so we celebrated the following day. About 4 years ago I got trick candles for his cake and now every year we have to get them. Danny even asked if I had gotten them yet. The kids think it is so funny and start laughing before he even tries to blow them out. It is so fun to watch them.

They do get along.

The other morning as I came out of my bedroom I found Miranda and Matthew snuggling on the couch together. Not that they don't love each other, but them two really know how to push each others buttons. I thought I better get a picture to prove to them when they are teenagers that hey at one time you really did like each other!

Over night visitors

This past week my brother in law from Indy, came in to see his favorite baseball team and decided to take Danny to the game one night for his birthday. Tony asked if that night if he and the boys could stay with us and if I would mind watching Brayden and Bryce. And of course not getting to see them much I jumped at the chance! They are so fun. Matthew and Brayden are only 5months apart and get along so well! And Bryce is only 2 and is cute as a button. He loved Michael and was all over him. He even wanted Michael to put him to bed that night. And I have to mention that there was no twisting Michaels arm! He is always so good with the little ones! I even made some chocolate chip cookies for them for snack! I hope as they get older that maybe they will be able to do longer visits in the summer! The kids have so much fun seeing their cousins! I hope they had as much fun as we did.

Visiting Dad

Last Sunday the kids and I went to visit Danny at the firehouse it was his 3rd day there and the kids really missed him (well okay so did I). They had a blast. Daddy let them climb up into the bucket and spray the hose. There is always something new for them to see there and they love it. I think we may have a couple firefighters in the making. Look at the looks on their faces as they spray that hose!

Kicking, crying, yelling and screaming

There was kicking, crying yelling and screaming on Matthew's first day of pre-school. He was fine! I on the other hand was devastated! I'm not sure which was more upsetting. Dropping him off where I am not going to be and leaving him to the wolves of the world! Or the fact that he could care less! I am pretty sure it was because he couldn't have cared less, I know he is capable of handling the wolves of the world! And his teachers are the same ones that Michael and Miranda had (hey its only fair they get to have all 3) and I know he is in awesome hands!

First day of school

This year Michael is in the 4th grade and Miranda is in 2nd. They both seemed really excited to go back to school. I'm not sure if they were tired of me, each other or just ready to see their friends again. They are both becoming more independent. Michael got to stay after school on Friday for a back to school social for the 4th, 5th and 6th graders, it was so weird him not getting off the bus and knowing he was at school, after school without me or Danny there. I am so not ready for all this! And the second day of school the bus driver was getting all the information cards from the kids at our stop and getting the kindergartners situated and was just parked with the doors open, so what does Matthew do? He decides to hop on the bus. He is in his jammies (no shirt) with two different flip flops and his back pack. Says by mom I'm going to school. Needless to say we all laughed. The bus driver has been watching Matthew for ever as the kids have gone to school and says she can't wait until he is really ready to ride the bus!
