One more sign he is growing up

I bet everyone thought I was referring to Matthew, but nope, its Michael. I can't believe how big he is getting. Last week he went to an after school social for the 3rd and 4th grade. It was so weird him staying after and Danny and I not being there. Usually, when an after school event or any school event happened he always wanted me to volunteer my time to help. Not this time he really wanted to do it alone. I couldn't believe it and was almost heart broken. At least for now Matthew still wants me around. He said that I am his Valentine. Michael is 9 1/2 and is getting so big! He does everything for himself. One would think that this is a good thing and it is, except he doesn't even like my hugs and kisses anymore. But, a friend at church said not to worry, he will come to an age and it won't be uncool to love his mom anymore! And one more thing Michael placed 3 place in the school newspaper drawing contest. He is quite the little artist! I am so very proud of him! Way to go Boo Man!

Motto for the day

Raising children is like being pecked to death by a chicken!!! And that pretty much sums up my day!

How Sweet

The other day Matthew and Miranda were playing in her room and I noticed they had gotten really quite so I went to check on them and I found them laying in her bed with her reading to him. It was so sweet. She loves reading and feels so old when he will let her read to him. She told me after that "I love being a big sister.!"

The flu strikes

Miranda came down with it on the 1st of Feb. and is still battleing it. Today her fever was up to 104.2, poor baby. And if having one kid sick isn't bad enough Sunday Matthew came down with it. We knew he was sick we he fell asleep on his own on the couch. Then Monday when we woke him up to go to the doctor the poor baby couldn't even walk down the hall, we found him laying half way between the living room and the bathroom. So we went to the doctor, they both have the flu and Matthew has an ear infection on top of it. His tube is lying side ways in his ear and now we have to go back to the ent to have it removed. But Tuesday he did muster up the energy to at least open his Valentine from MaMa and Larry. Doesn't he look so sad. Today he seemed to be feeling better and I sure hope Miranda is feeling better tomorrow! Wish me luck.

Snow Day #2

This past Thursday and Friday we got a lot of snow. 7 inches, which is more than we had gotten in a long time, and the kids loved it. We built a snowman, and the kids got to use their sled, kind of, considering we really have no hill in our yard they made the most of it. Miranda ended up with the flu and had to enjoy the snow with a spoon inside. Maybe next time Sissy! And one may be wondering why Matthew isn't on the sled, well he hasn't really mastered the art of running and jumping on it to get it going but insisted he could do it himself!

UFC at the Mannings'

It was Michael and Matthew vs. Daddy. It is hard to say who truely won, but I think Danny did more yelling for help than the boys. Miranda tried her best just to stay out of it. Sometimes she just isn't in the mood. But let me say it was so funny to watch. The pictures just don't do it justice!

Mmmmm,

Don't they make the ice creams look so good? Note to self, next time eat ice cream then bath!
