Very Proud!

This week the kids brought home their first semester report cards. And I am very proud to report that they both had straight A's! So far they both seem to like school and love learning. Michael is getting ready to do a group science project and is very excited! He seems to really enjoy every aspect of science whether it is the animal and living or chemicals and non living. He is only 9 and already knows probably more than I do about science. (science never was my best subject!) And Miranda is reading well above a begining second grader, her teacher is very impressed with the level at which she is reading and says she will have no problem next year when she moves on to the second grade. I only hope that they continue to have this great desire to keep learning. They have already set their future goals, Michael would like to become a conservationist or a firefighter, and Miranda wants to be a vet, or just get married and make her husband work (so she can shop whenever she feels like it!), thats my girl! Or is she my sisters?

Sad or Happy?

Today I made the appointment to register Matthew for preschool for next fall and have yet to decide if I am sad or happy! I am happy because he is so excited about finally going to "Dragon School" (the preschool is Little Dragons), and I know he is more than ready. And yet as I was talking to Mrs. Huffman, it hit me, that my baby is no longer a baby. He is developing into an actual little man. He is becoming more independent every day and loves to do things for himself and by himself. And then I thought man what am I going to do with myself for 3hrs by myself 4 days a week. I have thought about getting a part time job, but that doesn't sound like much fun either, so maybe I will just work on have the cleanest, and most organized house on the block! I guess time will tell. I have a while to decide because he won't actually start school until the fall after summer break, so I still have time to adjust to the idea of him going to school! But I know it is going to be hard to drop him off that first day. I think Danny will have to take a week of vacation other wise I can see me sitting in the parking lot for 3hrs until he is done at school!

At Grandpa's

Sunday we went to celebrate Christmas with my dad and the kids had a blast! They love to be out side at Grandpa's there is so much for them to do. The kids love to climb up the hill and on the big rock. Matthew was so proud that he was finally able to climb the rock by himself! He is getting so big! We all had a nice relaxing time and it was fun to visit with my brother and his family one last time before they went back to N.C. Hopefully they will be moving somewhere a little closer for his next station. I will keep my fingers crossed. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a wonderful 2008!
