I made it myself

Okay so the cake was not the prettiest and I will probably not be offered a job on ace of cakes anytime soon, but hey I was pretty proud of my baseball diamond cake and Michael thought is was the coolest. I guess that is all that matters right! Danny however gets the credit for placing the nine candles in the nine player positions!

My Baby is turning 9!!!!

Last month I thought it sad to watch my little girl turn 7, but now that Michael is turning 9 this week seems impossible. Where has the time gone!!! He didn't even want a real party, he just wanted to have a friend over for the afternoon. I was looking at his baby book and remembering how much he needed me and depended on me. Yeah I know he still needs me and depends on me but just not the same way. For example he now pours his own drinks, pours drinks for his younger siblings, he starts his own shower, (completely freaks if I walk in on him), and won't even give me a hug in the morning before the bus comes. Although I did manage to get one the other day, but I did tell him if he didn't do it then I would wait until the bus came and run out and kiss him in front of all the kids. A little mean yes I know but hey desperate times call for desperate measures!!! And it is reassuring to know that he is independent and able to take care of himself a little, but still sad to me! And for now I still have Matthew who will hug and kiss me anytime! Especially if he thinks he is making daddy jealous. Matthew will tell you he is not a baby, but he is mommy's baby, and that he will always be mommy's baby. I wonder how much longer that will last. Anyway, so Saturday Michael had his friend Connor over. Connor is a friend he met in pre-school, but no longer goes to school with. And they had so much fun!

Cheerleader in training

Every year the high school cheerleaders offer a mini camp to the elementary as a fundraiser. The camp last for one week and then the girls get to do a dance and a couple of cheers during a home football game. Let me just say that this was right up Miranda's ally! She loved every minute of it, especially during the game. And now she can't wait until next year to do it again. And she informed me that by the time she is in high school she will be one of the best, because she is already learning! Go Sissy!

11 years

It seems so hard to believe, but Friday, Danny and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. He had to work so we really didn't do anything on Friday, but last night his mom kept the kids and we went out with some friends and just had a fun time. We have been together for 14 years and I love him more today than I did on our wedding day. I would be lost without him, he is my life, my love, my best friend! Happy Anniversary I love you!

Painting in the park

Through our school district they have a program called Parents as Teachers. They have parent educators who when your child is little come to your home and test the kids and make sure that they have no disabilities and also answer any questions the parents may have. Michael never did the program but both Miranda and Matthew did. Well Matthew is still in the program and they have a group activity once a month and this one was Painting in the Park. Last year Matthew was yellow from his head to his toes! He even made the local paper. So this year of course I had to take him. The ladies in charge were so excited to see how he would paint this year! They offer a bunch of different ways for the kids to paint, they have edible things for little ones, they have just plain water, they have colored water in spray bottles, they have brushes, and then there is Mattie's favorite, paint your feet and walk across the paper! For him it truly is the messier he can get the funner it will be!

Birthday Girl!!!

This past weekend I took Sissy to celebrate her birthday. All she wanted was for her and her friend Alicia, (who I happen to be very good friends with her mom), to go have their nails done and to the mall for lunch and some shopping. So that is what we did. And let me just say the princess had a blast getting her nails done! At the mall we went to the Disney store and she was in Princess Heaven! She was so excited she could not decide what to buy. Happy Birthday Sis I hope you had a wonderful time!

Camping 07

Two weeks ago we had a fun filled camping weekend with our very close friends! And it was so much fun. And I must admit a very mild weekend for us, no blood shed, no burning legs with hot dog roaster and we were not warned to quite down after quite time. The only real event was when the kids were riding bikes another little boy came up behind them and started calling them names and trying to make them crash. I have yet to decide if this child was really brave or really stupid, seeing how there was one of him and 6 of our kids. We (the adults) told the kids to stand up too him and knock it off, and apparently that was all it took because Michael told him that if he did not stop he would crack him and the kid rode up the hill and did not return. But like I said all in all it was a quite and fun weekend. Michael and Joe even slept out in the tent rather than in the campers. They thought that was the coolest. But by the time we got home on Sunday they were wiped out. Michael took a two hour nap on the couch and was still in bed by 8!
