Spring has Sprung

Last week the weather was very wet and cold, so this weekend we took advantage of the nice weather and had a wonderful family weekend. Saturday we went to my Uncle Ray's and rode the 4wheelers and flew kites. It was perfect kite flying weather there was no effort involved and the kites stayed in the air for 20straight minutes at least. Then Sunday Danny took Michael fishing for some guy time, and finally last night we spent the evening riding bikes in the street with all of the neighbor kids. Even Danny and I took turns riding. Now that Matthew has a big boy bike we had to get a bike for us so that we can keep up with him.

All Aboard The Birthday Express

Okay so it's been 2 weeks since Matthew's 3rd birthday, but hey I'm a busy girl. Anyway for Matthew's birthday all he could talk about was a Thomas the Trane cake and Thomas toys. So this birthday was all about Thomas. Kimmy and Quinton made him the cake and everyone else took care of the rest. The boy got 3 different train sets. He also got some really cute clothes and jammies and a really cool bubble blower. Thank you to everyone who came and made his birthday very special.

Good By Diapers!

It is hard to believe that after 81/2 years and more than a million diapers I am done with diaper days! Hip Hip Hooray! For the last month we have been telling Matthew that after his birthday that he would not be able to wear diapers because the store does not sell them to big boys, and after less than a week I think we are pretty close to done. Today he told me everytime he had to go! Even when he was playing with his friends! I am sure we will still have some accidents but we can deal with that! Way to go little man! Mommy is so proud of you!

The right way to golf

Matthew has really gotten interested in golf. One day while play with Danny in the front yard Danny told him that to hit the ball good he had to wiggle his butt first. So now whenever he is playing he has to wiggle his hips. One day while play with a friend from across the street Carter kept missing the ball and all Matthew would tell him is your not wiggling! It was totally funny. The pictures do not do the wiggle justice to get the full affect you have to see him in person!

Easter Bucket Warning

As a mother I find it important to warn my kids of certain hazards. Example: don't run with scissors, or don't lay down with food in your mouth. Well the one thing I never thought to warn my kids of was don't stick your heads in your Easter Buckets. My mom got the kids these buckets instead of baskets this year for Easter. Miranda thought she would play like a marching band. Well she put the handle under her chin and her head was stuck. So like a good mom instead of getting the oil to get her out I grabed the camera and took a picture. I had Michael use the video camera to tape it and while I was getting her out you can hear him "Do I need to call 911?" Well there was no need to call 911 I got her out in less than 5 minutes. It probably would not have taken that long if I had not been laughing so hard. Moral of this story moms warn your kids not to put their head in their buckets.

The shirt says it all

My sister gave Matthew this shirt and it totally fits him. Ever since he went from the crib to the big boy bed he will not nap for me. Now if Danny is home he will take a 2 to 3 hour nap every day. But not for me. After about a week or two of fighting him I have just given up and just put him to bed at night a little earlier. I can't believe he will be three in less than one week. He is growing up way to fast. But then I guess all three of them are.

When did he grow up

This morning as I was getting breakfast for the kids it just hit me. Michael is so grown up. At the mere age or 8 he fixes his own plate, gets himself in and out of the shower with not a bit of help and will help dress Matthew without being asked. I can't believe he is getting so big! It seems like it was just yesterday and he was wearing the little jammies that Matthew wore last night. I am so proud of him. He makes good grades in school and is such a good kid all around. The other night he brougt home some papers from school and one happened to be a little story, when Danny asked him if he wrote it he responded with "It's a fictional dialouge dad!" It was so funny Danny and I both just laughed. Then his art picture that he painted took 2nd place in the Mastodon Art Fair it was a water painting of a sun set. Keep up the good work Boo Man!
